Study on flow field and measurement characteristics of a small-bore ultrasonic gas flow meter

A new structure is proposed for a DN25-type ultrasonic gas flow meter with V-shape double sound channel arrangement. The field characteristics are analyzed including velocity curves the four lines, profiles different cross-sections of meter, and streamlines transducer sections. metering flowmeter measured using Venturi nozzle device. When pipeline rate less than 2.26 m/s, pipe installation does not have significant effect on profile in lines. However, error low-flow region large, distortion directly affects measurement accuracy. an accuracy class 1.5 used pipes containing single or bend upstream, linear doubles, becomes negative deviation, reference approximately 700%–949%. first pair transducers also signal propagation behind it. Therefore, it critical to process according distribution adopt weighted algorithms obtain accurate rates improve meter.
